Although I’d bought this domain name in 2012 (www.themirrorchildren.com) I started trying to blog using blogspot this September. I very quickly realised that it had limited functionality and started setting up a site here using WordPress. It has taken about 3 weeks to get things up and going in a way I feel comfortable with and although the site looks pretty clunky – compared to those of my friends who have been blogging for several years – I figured that the main thing was to focus on the content and update the theme later. I’m the kind of person who would keep site content unpublished until I was sure it was perfect. In other words, if I was true to myself I’d never publish anything at all.
I’m really excited about getting The Mirror Children out there. The last time I considered doing something with it was back in 2004, when Kindle was just an idea in the head of some Amazon executive. The idea of being able to bypass all the third parties who slow down the process (agents, printers, etc.) is liberating but also quite frightening.
In this first post, I’d like to thank Tyler Moore for his free videos on designing using WordPress. He is the man.
